We created Velocity Sports Network because we still care about sports in the Upper Valley.

We grew up on the morning paper. You opened it for one reason: to see who won, who scored, and whether the kid from your town did something worth talking about at school. Those kids became heroes to us growing up, and we hoped that one day our names would be in that same paper. Now, that page is mostly gone.

Local newsrooms shrank, and high school sports went first. Scores land late or not at all. Game stories got shorter, then stopped running. The kids are still playing. The coverage isn’t.

To be clear, we love organizations like the Valley News - we want them to succeed. And we’ll do everything we can to support them. We also want our local sporting news and believe this can help.

What we’re here to do

Put more people in the stands. Grow the sports community on both sides of the river. Keep the Upper Valley, and the towns around it, paying attention to the kids who live here.

What we publish

Scores. Upcoming games. A short write-up of what your school did.

No think pieces (well, on the very rare occasion we might do one). No stretching a 2–1 soccer game into 800 words. If your team played, you should find the result and the story before you finish the first cup of coffee.

High school only. Upper Valley first. Vermont and New Hampshire.
