SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt. — White River Valley boys soccer rolled at home Saturday, beating Otter Valley 6-1. Jack Hughes scored a hat trick for the Wildcats, and his second goal of the first half made it 4-0 before the Otters found the net.
Coach John Olmstead called it “a nice bounce-back win” after Wednesday’s game against Mill River and singled out Gideon Hudson’s play off the bench. It was a full home performance that put WRV back in the win column with attack to spare.
White River Valley boys soccer is next at home against Twin Valley on Tuesday, October 6.

SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt. — White River Valley girls soccer fell at home Friday, dropping a 0-3 result to unbeaten Springfield. The Wildcats move to 5-6-1 and left the Cosmos at 10-0 after Springfield ended WRV’s four-game home win streak.
It was a tough home night in their league. Kaia Gray opened the scoring with a Callie Snyder assist in the first half, and Addie Snide plus Harper Palmer (from about 35 yards) added second-half goals while goalkeeper Tate Simoneau posted a fourth straight shutout for Springfield.
White River Valley girls soccer is next on the road at Rivendell on Wednesday, October 7, at 4:00 p.m.

South Qualifier at Crown Point | Friday, October 2
White River Valley boys golf got a qualifier through Friday at Crown Point Country Club. Wesley Sellers shot 87 and advanced to states.
It was a solid individual day for the Wildcats. Sellers locked in his spot, and the next stop is states Thursday at Ralph Myhre.
