WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. — Woodstock boys soccer fell on the road Saturday, dropping a 0-4 result at Hartford. The Wasps trailed 1-0 at halftime before the Hurricanes pulled away in the second half at the Maxfield Sports Complex and left Woodstock at 4-5-1.
It was a tough road night in their league. Woodstock stayed close through a half, then could not match Hartford’s second-half surge against a side riding a long winning streak.
Woodstock boys soccer is next on the road at Springfield on Thursday, October 8, at 3:00 p.m.

Woods Trail Run at Thetford Academy | Saturday, October 3
Woodstock cross country raced at Thetford’s Woods Trail Run on Saturday. Senior Nicholas Cellini placed fourth in Boys Division 2 in 18:31.4. Junior Aurora Hensel-Whalen was third in Girls Division 3 in 24:40.7, with Aven Westbrook (25:03.4) and Ruth Stallard (25:03.8) sixth and seventh in the same race. Senior Pippa Shaw placed sixth in Girls Division 2 in 23:26.6. Team scores were not posted.
It was a solid individual meet for the Wasps. Cellini’s top-four Boys Division 2 finish and Hensel-Whalen’s third in Girls Division 3 led a group of Woodstock placers.

BFA Fairfax/Lamoille at Woodstock | Friday, October 2
WOODSTOCK, Vt. — Woodstock football won at home Friday, beating BFA Fairfax/Lamoille 26-7. The Wasps move to 1-4 and left the combined Fairfax/Lamoille side at 1-4 after a clear home win.
It was a needed home night in their league. Woodstock found the end zone enough times to pull away and locked in its first win of the season stretch before a familiar league rematch next week.
Woodstock football is next at home against Otter Valley on Friday, October 9, at 7:00 p.m.
