CANAAN, N.H. - Mascoma football keeps finding new highs. The Royals beat Missisquoi Valley 54-8 at home Saturday afternoon, topping the 53 points they scored a week earlier for their biggest total of the season.
It was the third straight win for Mascoma, and the Royals have scored 150 points in that stretch, an average of 50 a game. They beat Prospect Mountain 43-6 on Oct. 10 and Hillsboro-Deering 53-20 on Oct. 17 before Saturday’s interstate game against the Vermont visitors.
That is a big change from the first half of the season. Mascoma scored 54 points total in its first four games, a stretch that included a 7-0 win over Raymond, a 21-12 win over Fall Mountain and losses to Newport (6-24) and Newfound (20-40).
The Royals improve to 5-2. Missisquoi Valley drops to 0-8.
Mascoma football is next at home against Farmington-Nute on Saturday, October 31, at 2 p.m.
That wraps up the day for Mascoma Valley Regional High School sports. We’ll see you next time!
